As Product Manager Foil, you are the operational engine behind our foil range across disciplines. You translate category strategy into clear product briefs, structured development plans, and commercially strong foil assortments. Owning the full product lifecycle, you ensure every foil system meets rider needs, performance targets, cost and margin goals, and is delivered to market on time.
Working at the intersection of R & D, Design, Sourcing, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain, you bridge long term category vision with hands on execution, turning complex technical concepts into market ready foil products trusted by riders worldwide.
Development and Production
• Lead end to end development of the Hydrofoil, Foil Board, and Wing ranges, from concept through production readiness
• Own development timelines, milestones, and workflows in close collaboration with engineering and design teams
• Translate product briefs into structured development plans covering materials, construction, modular compatibility, and performance targets
• Coordinate prototyping, testing, and iteration cycles to support performance driven decision making across disciplines including wing, kite, surf, and wind
• Manage the handover from development to production, ensuring specifications, BOMs, and quality standards are approved
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and drive corrective actions to ensure on time, high quality delivery
• Partner with quality and technical teams to validate production readiness and certification compliance
Supplier and Cost Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key foil and component suppliers
• Own cost targets and support value engineering and design to cost initiatives without compromising performance
• Conduct supplier reviews covering cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and compliance
Quality, Compliance, and Sustainability
• Ensure products meet North’s standards for quality, safety, durability, and performance
• Collaborate with compliance and sustainability teams to support ethical sourcing and responsible material choices
Cross Functional Collaboration and Go to Market
• Align closely with Category, Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain on priorities, launches, pricing, and forecasting
• Support product launches with clear technical input, internal training, and product documentation
• Engineering background with five to seven years of experience in product management, preferably in action sports or technical consumer products
• Strong affinity with advanced materials and hydrodynamics
• Solid understanding of construction techniques across materials such as carbon fiber, aluminium, glass fiber, composites, plastics, and stainless steel
• Experience with manufacturing processes including pre preg and wet layup, CNC milling, forging, casting, injection molding, and bonding
• Experience working with modular product systems and tight tolerance components
• Basic knowledge of relevant standards including ASTM, JIS, and NEN
• Strong affinity with watersports, foiling experience is a big plus
• Analytical mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross functional, international teams
• Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus
