Who You Are

  • The Expert: You have 5–10 years of industry-specific experience in category management or a similar strategic function.

Product Graphic Designer

Location - Katwijk

The Role in a Nutshell

At North Actionsports Group (NASG) home to iconic watersports brands North Kiteboarding, North Foils, North Windsurfing, and Mystic, product design doesn’t stop at performance. It looks fast, feels intentional, and tells a story before it ever touches the water.

As our Product Graphic Designer, you will be the creative force shaping the visual identity of our complete hardgoods and equipment collections across both North and Mystic (excluding Apparel). From kites, wings, boards, foils, and bars to wetsuits, harnesses, protection gear, hardware, and bags, you define how our products look, feel, and communicate at a product level.

This is a purely creative, product-level design role. All technical engineering and construction development remains with our Technical Leads and Technical Designers. Your focus is to translate high-level brand vision and category strategy into bold, confident, and manufacturable product graphics, working closely with technical teams to ensure your ideas are production-ready and perform in the real world.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Creative Direction & Product Visual Identity
  • Develop and execute the seasonal visual direction, graphic systems, and design languages across all product categories for both North and Mystic.
  • Build inspiring seasonal frameworks, including mood boards, themes, graphic languages, and signature elements.
  • Ensure all product visuals align perfectly with each brand’s specific DNA, tone of voice, and category strategy.
  • Maintain a clear boundary between creative visual ownership and technical construction execution.
  1. Color Architecture & Trend Translation
  • Manage and execute the annual color roadmap across brands and categories.
  • Translate trend research and insights into commercially viable, high-performance, and manufacturable color palettes.
  • Balance aesthetic innovation and freshness with brand recognition and production feasibility.
  • Ensure consistent and coherent color application across diverse products, components, and materials.
  1. Product Graphics & Visual Execution
  • Design and oversee product graphics for the full range, including panel layouts, branding, logos, icons, labels, trims, prints, patterns, and material expressions.
  • Deliver clear, factory-ready visual artwork and assets in close collaboration with technical teams.
  • Focus on visual clarity, brand expression, and aesthetic impact, adaptively scaling graphic systems to different product shapes and constructions.
  1. Technical & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Technical Leads and Technical Designers to understand materials, panel layouts, construction methods, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and material specifications to adjust visuals based on technical feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Art Director to align product graphics with the overall overarching brand vision.
  • Partner with Category Directors and Product Managers to translate category positioning and commercial priorities into product visuals.
  1. Materials, Print, & Real-World Performance
  • Apply a strong understanding of print techniques, material behavior, and manufacturing processes to design choices.
  • Collaborate directly with factories and material suppliers to test, sample, and refine visual outcomes.
  • Proactively resolve visual challenges related to stretch, distortion, durability, colorfastness, fading, and material wear.
  • Review prototypes, samples, and pre-production runs to validate visual quality and color accuracy on land and on the water.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant industry-specific experience in product graphic design, hardgoods design, or accessory design.
  • Design Aesthetic: Exceptional product-focused visual design skills with a strong, recognizable aesthetic and a passion for brand storytelling.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong capability to interpret technical drawings and translate technical input/constraints into high-impact visual outcomes without needing to be an engineer.
  • Execution Mindset: A strategic thinker who is equally comfortable with hands-on execution, detailing everything from large-scale layouts to micro-labels.
  • Industry Passion: A genuine passion for action sports, water sports, outdoor culture, or high-performance products.
  • Location: Currently based in the Netherlands or fully willing to permanently relocate to the Katwijk area.

Your Stakeholders

  • Internal: Art Director, Category Directors (Kite / Wing / Foil / Accessories), Product Managers, Technical Leads, Technical Designers, Marketing & Creative Teams.
  • External: Global production factories, print/material suppliers, and team athletes/riders.
